COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS 
TENABLE IN UNITED KINGDOM 2013/2014

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the above awards intended for Ghanaian men and women of high intellectual promise who would be expected to  make a significant contribution to the achievement of the overall development objectives of the country on their return from their studies.
The award would be tenable in Universities and other institutions of higher learning in the United Kingdom.

ELIGIBILITY:
Candidate should satisfy the following requirements:
  1. Be a Ghanaian citizen residence in Ghana.
  2. Should not be under a bond.In the case of persons under Government bond have the consent of their employers
  3. Applicants for Master's Degree must have First Class or Second Class Upper
  4. Applicants for Doctorate Degree Programme must have at least 2nd Class (Upper) and a relevant post graduate degree
  5. Candidates must not be above 35 years for Masters Degree and 40 years for PhD
  6. Applicants must obtain admission from a University in the United Kingdom
  7. Women are particularly encouraged to apply
SUBJECT AREAS:
1. Agricultural
Agronomy, Animal Breeding, Irrigation Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Extension, Foresty, Pulp/Paper Technology and Food Processing.

2.Health
Pharmacy/Pharmacology and Parasitology, Clinical Biochemistry/Dentistry, Medicine

3.Engineering and Hydro-Based Studies
Water Resource Management, Hydrology, Sanitary Engineering and Sewage Disposal, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Oil and Gas Management.

4.Social Sciences
Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science and Transport Management

MODE OF APPLICATION
a. Interested candidates with the requisite qualification are required to collect preliminary application forms from the scholarship secretariat, Accra
b. Applicants should state clearly their proposed field of study or research and in addition produce originals of certificates at the interview
c. Medical Officers within the public service should obtain formal clearance from the Director of Manpower, Ministry of Health in support of their applications
d. Candidates serving in Government Departments or in other Public Service Organizations or in other Public Service Organizations must pass their applications through the Heads of their Organizations

SUBMISSION:
Completed application forms should be submitted to the Registrar, together with the following documents
a.Certified copies of University record
b.Certified copy of birth certificate
c.One (1) recent passport size photograph

CLOSING DATE
Not later than 21st SEPTEMBER, 2012.
Alternatively, applicants may hand in application personally to the same address.
